Diagnosis: Urothelial carcinoma of the
bladder, conventional and micropapillary variant, high-grade, pT2. Comments: Micropapillary
is a distinct variant of urothelial carcinoma. Characteristically,
invasive
micropillary carcinoma exhibits small, tight nests of cells within
tissue
retraction spaces. May be pure or admixed with conventional urothelial
carcinoma.
Presence of even minor proportion of the micropapillary component can
affect
survival. It is invariably high grade and often present at advanced
stage. |
